There is no single price for every incident
A password reset and a multi-site domain, VPN or server problem are both called “IT support,” but they are not the same job. Price changes with urgency, required access, number of systems, risk, licensing and whether the root cause is already known.
Diagnosis versus remediation
A fixed diagnostic service creates a clear first step when the problem is unknown. The technician spends a defined amount of time isolating the issue and can often complete small corrections during that window. Larger remediation is then quoted with better information instead of guessing.
UpTime Quick uses a $149 starting point for Remote IT Diagnosis. Emergency and extended work can have a different scope.
What usually increases cost
- After-hours or same-day priority
- Multiple affected users, sites or servers
- Missing administrator access or documentation
- Third-party vendor coordination
- Data recovery or high-risk changes
- Licensing, hardware or cloud charges
- On-site work
Compare scope, not only the number
Ask what the initial fee includes, what happens if the issue is not solved in that window and whether additional work is approved before charges continue. A clear scope is often more useful than a low hourly number with no limit or diagnostic plan.
